BELMAR, NJ — Find out how easy borrowing books, audiobooks and DVDs can be through Belmar Public’s E-Street Pickup, its new contactless, curbside service.

The library has just released a video (see below) that features library assistant Luis Pulido explaining the simple process on its YouTube channel, which can be accessed by clicking here.

In the video, Pulido gives a brief overview — from start to finish — on how requests are being fulfilled and how safety measures have been put in place at the library so that it can offer services during the current coronavirus crisis.

In addition to checking out materials, the library is also providing, copying, faxing and printing services through its E-Street Pickup curbside service.  Click here to learn more.

Library patrons can request materials by phone, email or online and then schedule a time to pick up their order at the rear of the library — in its parking lot on E Street, just around the corner from the main entrance at 517 10th Avenue. The curbside service is available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Here is how E Street Pickup works:

Place your order by calling the library at 732-681-0775 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by emailing library@belmar.com or visiting its website by clicking here and completing an online form at anytime, 24/7.

Once the order is received, availability of your requested materials will be checked, and the order will be confirmed by phone or email with a scheduled time for pickup in the library parking lot.

You can either call or text the library upon your arrival, and a library staff member — wearing a mask and gloves for everyone’s safety — will deliver your order contact-free, placing it in the back seat or truck of your vehicle.

If you're coming on foot or bicycle, please wear a mask and maintain proper social distancing of six foot at all times.

Loaned materials can be returned at any time by placing them in the drop box located in the front of the library or when you’re picking up a new order during curbside pickup hours.

All returned items will be held in a 72-hour quarantine before being made available for loan again.

The service is available to Belmar Public Library permanent card holders only. Obtaining a free card or converting a temporary one can be done — with a valid identification/proof of residency — when making a curbside request.

The library will continue to be closed to the public and no one will be allowed entry. As a result, printing, copying, faxing and computer access are not available at this time.
