RAVENSWOOD — Over Easy Cafe, the popular neighborhood brunch spot, closed last week after 15 years.
Owners for the restaurant at 4943 N. Damen Ave. announced in a Instagram post May 26 they would permanently shut down.
Down the street from Winnemac Park, Over Easy had been closed since late December because of a holiday break for staff. The owners then extended that hiatus.
The restaurant’s last Instagram post said owners had hoped to reopen Jan. 12, but they indefinitely postponed those plans before finally calling it quits in May.
“Over Easy became the definition of synergy because of all of you, and the community we built will always remain,” the post read. “Thank you for coming to enjoy with us and being a part of the hustle and bustle of brunch; we will miss you terribly, but we’ve had a great run.”
