It’s not only easier these days to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination, you likely won’t have to travel far from home.
Allegheny County’s Vaccine Provider map contains information about pharmacies and ongoing vaccination sites, as well as temporary vaccination events. Each location includes information about the type of vaccine available and how to register.
“We are trying to make it as easy as possible for as many people as possible to get vaccinated, and this map will aid those efforts,” says Allegheny County Health Department Director Dr. Debra Bogen. “Getting vaccinated means getting our lives back, it means spending time safely with loved ones and protecting yourself and others from this deadly virus.”
Any organization that is holding a vaccination event is asked to email VaccineDistribution@AlleghenyCounty.us for information on how to be added to this map.
For those who can’t leave their home for medical or other reasons, Pennsylvania is working with the state’s 52 area agencies on aging and vaccine providers to reach everyone who wants a shot.
“These partnerships break down barriers for seniors, adults with disabilities, and others in our Medical Assistance system who are high risk and cannot leave their homes, many of whom are lower-income or people of color,” says acting Secretary of Human Services Meg Snead. “This direct outreach and coordination are essential for an equitable vaccination process and will help us save lives.”
