Decorating for each season doesn’t have to be an expensive task. There are easy and inexpensive ways to decorate for spring. Try hanging a faux floral wreath on your door or filling a vase with colorful Easter eggs. These items can be found at inexpensive stores or maybe even in your own home.
Here are five easy and inexpensive ways to decorate for spring:
Decorate with Flowers – Fresh or Faux
Flowers can brighten up any space whether they are fresh or faux. Fresh Tulips on the dining room table, faux Eucalyptus in a small vase on my desk, and a floral arrangement by the kitchen sink are signs of spring.
I really love fresh flowers, but floral bouquets can be expensive. Trader Joe’s has a fantastic flower selection with long lasting flowers at low prices. We also have local farms in town that sell $5 bouquets along the roadside.
In my home I hang faux floral wreaths and faux boxwood wreaths on in the kitchen, dining room, and bedroom. I love using faux floral wreaths because they last forever. Faux flowers are easy to buy online in bulk or at craft stores if you want to create your own wreath or bouquet.
Decorating for Easter
Many of the spring themed decorations around my home were purchased to decorate for Easter. Easter decorations double as spring decor, so I keep many things up – like moss bunnies – for longer than the Easter holiday season.
I decorated our bar cart with a vase full of dollar store eggs, faux flowers, and a wooden bunny. Colorful Easter eggs and bunnies in different textures are an easy way to add a little bit of whimsy to a room.
Decorating Tip: I always shop around for the best deals before making a purchase at places like Target, Dollar Tree, Walmart, and Goodwill.
Switch Out Your Throw Pillows
An easy way to brighten up your living room or bedroom is to switch out your throw pillows. Pillow covers are inexpensive, as is looking for end of season sales on pillows at home decor stores.
Decorate with Homemade Spring Artwork
There is nothing more precious than a handprint bunny or hand-painted bouquet of flowers by a child. Decorate your home with homemade spring artwork. My daughters love art projects so we make painted canvases to use as decor for each season. If you don’t have kids, try your hand at painting something yourself!
Use What You Already Own
Milk glass is one of the first items I started collecting when we moved into our home. I use it as decoration around our home and add seasonal items to the vases. For spring, add a branch of Eucalyptus, pussy pillow stem, or a few tulips into a vase.
If you have a few glass vases, fill them with spring themed items like faux Easter eggs, moss balls, or even long stemmed carrots.
As you can see, it can be easy and inexpensive to decorate for spring. From decorating with fresh or faux flowers, switching out your throw pillows, or allowing your children to create spring art, there are fun ways to make your house feel as spring-y inside as it does outside.
