In all my years I have never experienced a “mass attack” let alone one as well done as the one at Regions Hospital for the Covid shot.

It took 15 minutes from beginning to end (not counting the 15 wait at the end).

It was well organized, efficient in every way, plenty of staff to guide your every step; sign-up, shot, next appointment and 15-minute resting area, always someone to help, like a well oiled machine only with smiles and friendly banter, never missing a beat!

I have friends for whom it has taken up to two hours from start to finish, so, Regions, my hat’s off to your planning and organization and execution. Thank you for making it easy, along with Health Partners for making getting the appointment process easy. Special thanks to everyone involved.

A big Thank You to the staff at Health Partners Clinic in Woodbury. We received both of our Covid Vaccine shots at that clinic and the treatment could not have been better.

The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The procedure for getting the injections was handled very competently. The friendly manner in which we were greeted and directed to where we should go was appreciated.

Thank you to all the workers in that clinic.

We stopped for gas on Sunday, decided to call Mama’s Pizza for a to-go order, found that the car wouldn’t start, called AAA  for help,

The cold weather meant an extended wait time. Called Mama’s to let them know. When we got to Mama’s they made a fresh order for us but would not let us pay for it. They told us we have been through enough and to have a better evening. We would like to say “Thank You” to Mama’s Pizza.

For Valentine’s Day my sister and husband wanted a dinner from the Porterhouse in Little Canada. They used to eat there frequently before Covid hit. I was afraid I would not get an order because it was Valentine’s Day and they were so busy with their Valentine’s special.

So I called the Porterhouse to order their meal. Long story short I talked to the manager and told him about my sister and her husband. My sister’s husband was just diagnosed with brain cancer. He was sent home on hospice care three weeks ago. Manager said it will be ready. When I went to pick it up and went to  pay for it they said it was taken care of.

When I shared this story with my sister and her husband they were so impressed and a little tears.

Porterhouse always had Great Food, Great Service, Great Atmosphere and now they can add Great Human Compassion.

“Sainted” might be too strong a word to describe Frank Vascellaro and Amelia Santaniello of WCCO TV. However, I would like to offer kudos to them for choosing to match Frank’s ties to the color of Amelia’s outfits. They often “clashed” in the past causing some minor distraction but no longer. A relief to the “fashion conscious” viewer… (How that happened to me is another story…)

The days-long failures by power companies around the country in the recent deep freeze, caused me to recall my Letter to the Editor of last March 2020.

It was the beginning of stay-at-home safety precautions, and, after only a few weeks of being isolated alone at home, I came to realize just how important to our safety, health and comfort our reliable utilities were going to be during this time. So I dashed of a quick note to the Pioneer Press of my appreciation for the reliable, uninterrupted service being provided to us by Xcel Energy.

I never realized this would need to become an annual recognition but here we are on the anniversary of that letter and power companies around the country are failing to provide the reliability we enjoy here, even in our brutal winter weather.

Thanks again  Xcel. See you next year.
