Crafting is arguably the most important part of any reputable RPG. While players are constantly finding decent gear through missions and exploration, most of the best items must be built by hand. The same rings true for Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red's groundbreaking project has run into massive walls as far as bugs and glitches are concerned. However, for fans operating on PC and Next-Gen consoles, Cyberpunk 2077 is an incredible experience.
The crafting menu can be one of the harder things to understand in any game. With different dropdowns, tiers, and categories, some games can get a little overwhelming. While Cyberpunk isn't impossible to understand, it will take a little bit of trial and error to work through the different craftable items and mods. Players will first need crafting components if they plan to make anything. This guide will walk players through how to farm legendary components in Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077: Legendery Component Farming
There are two schools of thought when it comes to legendary component farming in Cyberpunk 2077. Players can choose to climb the component ladder, turning uncommon/common pieces into rare/epic gear, and dismantling them for legendary components. This can start as low as dismantling soda cans found in V's apartment complex. This method can be streamlined further by turning the soda cans into Incendiary grenades and then dismantling them for Rare and Epic components.
The video below from YouTuber ZaFrostPet goes into further detail on obtaining the grenades and how to best craft/disassemble them.
Let's call method 1 the 'honorable' method of farming legendary components. With enough Epic and Rare crafting materials, V can craft legendary items and then disassemble them for the components needed. However, keep in mind that players will have had to invest some skill points in the crafting tree itself to make rare+ items. This can be all done via Techincal Ability. Players need not worry if they have wasted skill points; there is a way to respec perks in Cyberpunk, but it's pricy.
The must-have perks are:
- True Craftsman - Craft Rare items
- Mechanic - Gain more components when disassembling
- Workshop - Disassembling has the chance of granting extra components
- Cost Optimization - Reduces component cost when crafting
- Grease Monkey - Craft Epic items
- Edgerunner Artisan - Craft Legendary items
Now that players have a surplus of rare/epic components, along with the perks needed to use them, they can begin crafting a different grenade known as Ozab's Nose. This grenade blueprint can be found after completing 'Send in the Clowns,' a side job given by Ozab between Street Cred levels 15-20.
This video by YouTuber Saribro does a great job of explaining the process step by step.
Cyberpunk 2077: Farming Legendary Components (The cheesy way)
While the above examples took advantage of utilizing perks in the game to get the most bang for V's component-buck, let's talk about how players can actually cheese the game to get unlimited legendary components. The first thing players will want to do is amass a decent pool of Eurodollars. This strategy will require an initial investment.
Find any junkshop in Night City, the one south of the City Center is featured in the video below by YouTuber KpShamino. Walk-in and buy both Johnny Silverhand records from the shop owner for 1,200 Eurodollars total. Walk outside, dismantle them, wait 24 hours, and repeat. Eventually, players will have enough legendary components to craft legendary gear that they can sell at vendors and turn a profit on all those Johnny Silverhand records they just bought. Johnny probably doesn't appreciate V destroying his albums, but hey, that's life in the seedy underground that is Cyberpunk 2077.
Finally, the ultimate way to cheese the game is to take advantage of the item duplication glitch. This involves glitching into the machine vendors located around night city and buying back infinite amounts of any item V sells to it. This will also require a pool of Eurodollars, but the duplicated items can be broken down for components. Hurry while this glitch is un-patched!
Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and last-gen.
