If only for a moment, there is a sense of tranquility in Austin.
After two straight losses and weeks of outside noise from fans and critics alike, Texas got the job done against Baylor in a 27-16 win that for much of the day wasn’t even as close as the final score may indicate.
The Longhorns got the job done on the ground (164 yards and two touchdowns), through the air (270 yards passing from senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger) and on defense (316 yards allowed) in their most complete victory of the season.
Here is some of the national reaction from Texas' win over the Bears:
Somewhere along the way, Texas’ uniforms got very busy and I’m not sure I noticed it until I saw these throwbacks and now I think Texas should adopt this uniform going forward. #HookEm pic.twitter.com/NxG4RIHt5U

I do love the choice by Texas to just refuse to throw with Ehlinger

It's hard to be as bad at special teams as Texas has been this season. Just ridiculous.

Took a poll of the room. Dogs and I are unanimous. Both Texas and Baylor should ditch the receiver screens. Spacing is horrible. Looks hideous

“Stand With Sam” also serves as a description of one of Texas’ more creative play designs.

As @JeffHowe247 pointed out this week... Big 12 opponents have outscored Texas 38-14 in the 3rd quarter this season.
Texas leads 13-3 and will get the ball to start the 3rd quarter #HookEm

The Baylor/Texas game isn’t over but it’s over

Baylor has punted from the Texas 30 yard line and missed a FG from the Texas 25 yard line.

Sam Ehlinger picked, Baylor will setup shop at the Texas 25.
It's always interesting.

Why are Texas offensive linemen always committing dumb, inexcusable personal foul penalties?
— Brian Davis (@BDavisAAS) October 24, 2020
This is going to come down to an onside kick or something else strange like Texas' last three games, right?
— Chuck Carlton (@ChuckCarltonDMN) October 24, 2020
Turned on the Texas-Baylor game. While not at full capacity, there are thousands of maskless fans shouting, cheering, and crowding together.
While football is my favorite sport, I just can’t watch a superspreading event in the making.
